- Selection bias alert! Professors-to-be probably hung out with other
- intellectual wannabes (and possibly with their pre-law and pre-med
- analogues) and may therefore have a view of their own cohort of
- college students ... now that they're professors, they have to deal
- with the entire population of students.

- I've always had to be careful ... far too many of the students at
- the institutions I've worked at remind me of the middling students
- from my high school. Never mind the changing fashion; they still
- have the same propensity to look for the easiest way through, and the
- same conformity. Maybe that's why I don't buy into these
- generational conflict arguments that keep surfacing.
