  30. Good lord!  it was sheer chance that I got around to reading words-l today
  31. (yes, I'm playing hookey from a book deadline ...) ... and nobody forwarded
  32. this to me!

  34. Grant has *not* turned into the Pathological Murdering Boyfriend from Hell,
  35. but I have done a pretty fair imitation of the Pathological Editor from
  36. Hell who can't even look at a printed page without pointing out (at great
  37. and enormous length) what's wrong with it.

  39. The books are now due out, OUP says, in April.  I'll believe it when I see
  40. it.  Meanwhile I have to write a paper about the project in the next 6 days
  41. so I can go be boring in New York.  Pretty fascinating, huh?  NOT!  You've
  42. been lucky to be spared my lunacy.
