- I just upgraded my 386-25 to 8 Mb from 4 Mb. My first 4 Mb are 1x9
- SIMMS and the new ones are 1x3 SIMMs. The system recogized the new
- memory fine, and all of the system has been working well - and the
- DJGPP 32-bit compiler and my programs under it definitely are working
- with the new memory as there is definitely reduced swapping. However,
- under Excel 4.0 - I periodically get a Memory Parity Error message and
- the whole system dies a grizzley death! This has not happened under
- AmiPro, even with my whole thesis w/ graphics, loaded in - yet it just
- crops up in Excel, with as little as a chart and a 4K CSV file....
-
- Is this actually a hardware problem? Or is Windows and/or Excel the
- quirky one? The sudden freezing of my work reminds me more of how the
- old Atari STs acted......
- Cheers
