- We are trying to use BigmOuth from Talking Technologies. For the
- price, it's a good system. The disadvantages: DOS based, not windows.
- A windows version may be in the works, but I haven't heard of it. The
- phone book structure uses a proprietary flat text file which makes it
- difficult (but not impossible) to import data from our DBMS.
- The advantages: It offers phenomenal voice digitizing and supports
- incoming and outgoing call management. If you have the disk space,
- you can set up voice mail for your staff, and telemarketing systems.
- One word of caution, the cheaper version needs it's own analog telephone
- line. Running it through a PBX or digital phone network requires
- an upgrade to the more expensive hardware and software.
-
- Talking Technologies (according to the manual) can be reached at...
