  11. I've been using ProComm Plus for Windows for a couple of months and
  12. I'm very disappointed in the package. So disappointed in fact that
  13. I have returned to using QMODEM 4.31 running in a windows DOS session.

  15. My basic complaint is that I have been unable to upload to my favorite
  16. BBS using PC+/Win. Yesterday, for instance, I had the following problems:
  17.      ZMODEM protocol seemed to upload ok, except at the rate of about
  18.        2000 cps instead of the 1100 I expected. When the upload was
  19.        complete it started over again at block 2, then started over
  20.        again at block 3, etc.
  21.      YMODEM-G protocol caused my modem to hang up the phone about
  22.        one-third of the way through
  23.      YMODEM and 1K-XMODEM protocols aborted with a timeout error
  24.        about one-third of the way through.

  26. These problems have occurred repeatedly over time and at different
  27. times of days. PC+ does not report transmission errors or retries
  28. before it fails.

  30. After switching back to QMODEM running in a DOS session, I uploaded
  31. a dozen files of up to 150K each with no problems.

  33. I am running a 50MHz 486DX, Intel 9600EX modem, with comm package
  34. set to run at 19.2K, 8MB of RAM, DOS 5.0, Win 3.1. I'm
  35. connecting to a PC Board BBS. I've tried various settings in
  36. PC+/Win without any luck in fixing the problems.

  38. I'd be interested in hearing from those who have had great success
  39. uploading to BBS systems using PC+/Win before I completely give up
  40. on the product.
