  18. You can subscribe to a list through Compu$erve, though it may not be cost
  19. effective since Compu$erve charges for reading mail from Internet beyond
  20. the $8 or $9 monthly allocation.  Usually, most of us don't get close to
  21. exceeding our Compu$erve monthly mail allocations (upto which mail is free
  22. and beyond which mail is expensive), but given the volume of a list like 
  23. this, if you read a lot, you may end up paying a lot.  (Incidentally,
  24. Compu$erve only charges you for what you read, not what you receive, so
  25. judicious reading might be feasible, but I doubt it.)

  27. You cannot FTP or Telnet from Compu$erve.  You can telnet to Compu$erve
  28. (using hermes, I think), but I've heard it is expensive, but don't remember
  29. the details.

  31. If you're asking if you can use your Compu$erve account as an Internet/Bitnet
  32. account, the answer is no.  They do provide a mail service (at a cost beyond 
  33. a certain point) and the ability to telnet to Compu$erve, but that's it.
