- Hi,
-
- Iowa State's unofficial and experimental SpiGopher server is now
- officially (but unofficially) up and running for testing at:
-
- isumvs.iastate.edu port 70
-
- This facility uses STS SpiGopher which gives access to SPIRES
- database files on the ISUMVS system (WYLBUR) at Iowa State University.
- STS SpiGopher is a cousin to CMS SpiGopher at Syracuse University.
- Current database facilities available include: a restaurant review
- database, a video review database, an electronic directory of names
- at Iowa State, an electronic schedule of classes and an informational
- catalog database describing Iowa State.
-
- Additions to CMS SpiGopher include: an info.files structure so one
- can place information files with each SpiGopher database, a folder or
- .fd feature that is used for a link-list style database, a link.out
- structure to hold links to other Gopher servers (so SpiGopher can blend
- in with other Gopher servers better) and other assorted sundries.
- More complete STS SpiGopher technical information is available from within
- Iowa State's SpiGopher and is also available for anonymous ftp from:
-
- net-1.iastate.edu in the /pub/wylbur subdirectory (file: spigo.info)
-
- Questions, inquiries and comments regarding this facility should
- be sent to: Joe Struss (ga.jas@isumvs.iastate.edu).
-
- That's all for now.
-
- Bye.
