- Possibly. We meant to warn real freshwater divers about a serious threat
- that they may encounter. The Cousteau people and their exploits are of no
- interest to us in the least.
-
- We at the Divers' Environmental Survey do our best to make a difference in
- the way people view their local waters; that is, we want them to see and
- understand their local waters as living ecosystems worth protecting and
- preserving. The Cousteau people are a marketing group, and in the words of
- Jean-Michel, nothing more than "professional beggars" (words he used to
- respond to two would-be environmental activist divers who wanted tips on
- how to get an organization started).
-
- Have *you* noticed any difference in the way folks regard their local
- waters as a result of the Cousteau expeditions?
-
- Gadflies of the broadcast media, that's the Cousteau family, IMHO.
