- Last question of the year. Have got a large file 621Mg in tar form on an
- Exabyte 8mm Cartridge. The scratch disk on the compute server is much
- less. How would SAS read a tar format file from the Exabyte ? If you have
- experienced such processing on an Unix system, your comments and
- suggestions would be very helpful.

- I know it will help to read only obs and variables of interest but the
- slow sequential processing is scary. We are running SAS 6.07.
