- An outfit called MEE Productions produced a very insightful, action-oriented
- study of street kids for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. It's called
- REACHING THE HIP-HOP GENERATION. It can be obtained from MEE Productions,
- Inc. 4601 Market Street, Philadephia, PA 19139, Tel: 215 748-2595
- Fax: 215 748-3223. Since it was funded by a foundation, I doubt they would
- charge for it.
-
- The study itself focusses on their culture, their communications, and how to
- reach them with drug abuse programs -- to the extent this is possible. It's
- not pure academic social science. It is based on considerable qualitative
- research, communication expertise, and action-oriented thinking. It is very
- clearly written.
-
- Good luck!
