- Debbie Shank said, in part....
- ... I understand
- your desire to be considered legitimate "researchers" rather
- than poets, but perhaps it is time to think about the
- ways poets "code their data" to make us more aware of the
- worlds around us. -- just some food for thoughts --
-
- and Todd Jenning replied, in part.....
-
- ...... We are left to walk both
- sides of the fence without playing the whore to either.
-
-
- That leads to visions of pimps and madams somewhere out there in
- research land. So, walking the fence, as Todd suggests, must mean
- some of us hope not to grow up to *be* pimps and madams of research.
- Hmmm...rather a sad picture, don't you think? Perhaps part of what
- we need is a new vision of what it is we're trying to do.
-
- If I have to pick, I'd pick the poet.
-
- And, as Obi wan Kanobe didn't quite say.....
- Metaphors be with you.
