  19. I had a problem at a site running DECUS UUCP.  I may not have
  20. enough information for you to identify the problem.  If not,
  21. I guess I'll have to wait for the problem to reoccur, but I
  22. thought I'd post this on the chance it's a known problem.

  24. Sometime Friday afternoon something went wrong with the UUCP
  25. batch jobs.  [I'm not sure what.  I was a little too quick to
  26. blow them away and resubmit them to get things running.]  Note,
  27. these are the jobs that comprise DECUS UUCP, *not* PMDF's
  28. channel programs.  Subsequent to that two different vn_xxxx
  29. master batch jobs ran.  Both hung, I think at the point they
  30. were trying to wake UUCP.

  32. Before I killed the uucp batch jobs, I deleted the two vn_xxxx
  33. jobs.  They were replaced by the next two on the queue which
  34. also hung.  When I killed the uucp jobs everything freed up.

  36. Sorry I didn't capture the various logs.  As I said above,
  37. if the problem isn't easily identifyable from this description
  38. I'll try to gather more information if it reoccurs.
