  19.   Just purchase NetWare for Macintosh and install it.  I
  20. assume since you said a "Novell 486 server" that you your server is up
  21. and operating? Connecting the IBMs would already have been done since
  22. that is the basic configuration of supporting DOS machines.
  23.   You will need some network interface cards for the Macs or use a
  24. DL2000 card in the server and connect the Macs via LocalTalk.  The
  25. DL2000 LocalTalk will work but won't give you the performance like
  26. ethernet will.  If file sizes are less than about 200K, this will
  27. suffice.  When you are handling larger files, the users get a little
  28. antsy waiting and you should go with something like ethernet.
  29.   If you are sharing a Postscript printer and want Novell to handle the
  30. print queue chores, then get the DL2000 to service the PS printer if you
  31. don't have some gateway from your MS-DOS topology to LocalTalk.
