- We are upgrading to 3.11 from 2.2 in a student lab (as posted earlier)
- and cannot remote boot. After downloading a bunch of likely files from
- compuserve ($$$$$) there was a brief mention in one of them about
- tokenrpl.nlm and token.rpl being the two files needed to remote
- boot on token ring and that there was a pcn2.rpl file used for
- baseband (what we have). Back to the Novell manuals and, sure enough
- theres mention way back in a dark corner about needing to load
- PCN2LRPL.NLM to remote boot. PCN2L.RPL was on the novell disks, but
- the NLM wasn't.
-
- So we called novell - after 7 transfers and 30 minutes on hold they told
- us that that file does not come with 3.11, but they refused to tell us
- where to get a copy -- only to call an authorized dealer. The only
- authorized dealer that we could find who had didn't have their Novell
- person on vacation didn't have a clue about what we sere talking about,
- but last I heard they were trying to call Novell.
-
- Has anyone out there ever seen a copy of this file (PCN2RPL.NLM). Does
- anyone know why the NLM's required to operate the network aren't
- shipped with the product or made available on the Forum?
-
- BTW - the baseband cards don't come with a disk since novell supplies the
- drivers (supposedly - the one thing you need isn't supplied) and our
- IBM rep is apparently on vacation until Jan. 4 too.
-
- ANY ideas appreciated!
