-
- Each user is *intended* to have a personal copy of PRINTCON.DAT in their
- mail directory. ALL the print commands (capture, nprint, printcon,
- pconsole, printdef) will try to find PRINTCON.DAT there.
-
- I modified our print services to use one standard copy of PRINTCON.DAT
- from public. I ran 'SMODE filename.exe 5' for each print command.
- This tells the shell to search for PRINTCON.DAT in the path even though
- a specific path is specified in the .EXE. Now all my users share one
- copy of PRINTCON.DAT up in SYS:PUBLIC.
-
- If you do the same thing, the pause will probably go away. However, I'm
- not going to destroy my bindery to test this for you. :)
-
- You may in time run into other problems. We have software here on our
- network that stores configuration information in the users mail
- directory so it always knows where to find it based on the user id.
- Such software would break badly if the user didn't have a mail
- directory.
-
- You might try running BINDFIX to see if it will create new mail
- directories for your users...
