  14. The GNSFIX patch in 311PTn.ZIP may help the problem.
  15. The documentation follows:
  16.
  17. GNSFIX   NLM
  18. 2397 02-19-92   1:43p   This patch fixes a problem found when
  19.                         rebooting and attempting to get a
  20.                         connection to the file server.  If all of
  21.                         the connections are in use, (e.g. 20 for
  22.                         the 20-user version, 50 for the 50-user
  23.                         version, etc.), and one of the users
  24.                         reboots, the user will not be able to log
  25.                         back in to the server. This problem will
  26.                         only occur if there is only one network.
  27.                         If the user is on an internet, a
  28.                         re-connection will be possible.
  29.
  30.                         The problem is that once a user reboots,
  31.                         his connection is not terminated at the
  32.                         server until a time out limit is reached
  33.                         (usually 15 minutes).
  34.
  35.                         This patch corrects the problem by
  36.                         checking the source node address of the
  37.                         incoming packet to the node address of
  38.                         all workstations the server currently
  39.                         thinks it is attached to.   If a match is
  40.                         found the server responds to the
  41.                         workstation, thus re-creating a
  42.                         connection in the same slot the
  43.                         workstation had prior to its reboot.
