- I don't know why we have to speculate on the meaning behind it all.
- The facts seem to be:
- the NBIP=directory-for-XPL-programs only works from the menu.
- to run XPL-pgms from the action/command line, the program has to
- be found along the system path.
- Contrary to what myself and others have said, I don't think this
- is necessarily inelegant. I also now tend to think that this is the
- way it is meant to be, since--I guess--the action line uses the core
- (xywrite) engine which may be difficult to teach new tricks, such as
- looking at the value of a new variable. But this is pure and probably
- unnecessary guesswork.
