- Our library is strictly for the hospital's employees, so we
- have a sign on our front door stating that policy. In
- addition we ask that employees wear their hospital i.d.
- When we get walk-in requests for reference, we refer the
- patron to a separate Patient Education department that is
- set up to handle consumer/patient/family questions. If the
- non-affiliated patron is a health care professional, we
- allow them to use the collection as a courtesy, e.g. Medline
- search on CD-ROM, in-house use of reference & monographs,
- photocopying from journal collection. We refer the health
- care professional to their own institution's library for
- more in-depth questions. Hope this helps.
