  14.      Before (or as) the Grinch tells us why we should drop it,
  15. I'd like to hear any solid, persuasive argument FOR it except the
  16. economic one (it supports a lot of good people in graduate school
  17. and teaching positions).  It seems to me it's a lot like having a
  18. defense plant in your town.
