- I have a solution to the "rotten situation" that one of you described in
- your post under this head. It isn't popular, but here it is: let's stop
- requiring Freshman English of all who enter a college or university. Please
- note that I am not recommending that we stop offering writing courses; I am
- urging us to reconsider the universal requirement in writing. I have come to
- this conclusion after five long hard years trying to implement the Wyoming
- Resolution, and I'll be happy to write more about my plan if anyone cares to
