  39.             AN ATLAS OF REFUGEES AND FORCED MIGRATION
  40.

  42.      Two geographers are assembling the first-ever atlas of
  43. refugees and other displaced peoples.  The focus of the
  44. undertaking is from May, 1945 to the end of 1992, and the atlas
  45. will cover the entire world; a tentative publication date is set
  46. for April, 1994.  Groundwork is well underway, and the atlas
  47. editors are presently working out the subtle details of plate
  48. design and page format.

  50.      As prelude to the final product, a symposium is currently
  51. being organized, which will be held in Toronto, Ontario, in
  52. November of 1993; the symposium is scheduled to coincide with the
  53. SAFE HAVEN exhibit being prepared by the Royal Ontario Museum and
  54. the Multicultural History Society of Ontario.  Limited travel
  55. funds to the symposium are currently be sought, with preference
  56. given to those residing outside of Canada.  Prospective symposium
  57. participants and/or atlas contributors are requested to contact
