  18. This summer I purchased the dBase file of item numbers and class list from
  19. Margaret Mooney at University of California, Riverside.  The file contains
  20. more than just item numbers and Sudoc stems, but title, frequency, fields
  21. for local location and selection dates, whether the title is active or not,
  22. and a bit more which I can't remember off the top of my head.

  32. Records from a dBase file can be converted to ASCII format, it can also be
  33. copied into a WKS format.  At least that's what my manual says.  I have
  34. created ASCII files from dBase files, but never spreadsheet files.

  36. The cost was very reasonable (about $60) and Ms. Mooney most helpful and
  37. generous with her advice and time.  We're in the process of editing the
  38. database now ... its huge! ... to reflect our holdings.
