  46. First of all : any questions and problems about NetHack should be posted to
  47. rec.games.hack.  There you'll find all the weirdos who know everything
  48. (well ... at least close to it) about that stuff.

  50. Concerning your problem : 
  51. Are you sure, you examined ALL Hell-Levels?? There are normally about 20 
  52. of them (Levels 30-50). The Wizard of Yendor may live in any of these. 
  53. Best way to make sure you don't miss him is to level-teleport down to Lvl 50
  54. and go up each level. Since the stairs in hell ONLY GO UP, this is indeed 
  55. the one and only way to be sure to find the WoY (unless you don't carry a
  56. 100 tons of cursed scrolls of teleport).

  58. By the way : there a several buildings in hell that look like the one above.
  59. Each of those is the home of a demon (or the WoY). You'll find the Vampires
  60. (and their Lord) in a special Tower-Level (actually 3 levels).

  62. If you REALLY walked through each level (1-50) and DIDN'T find the Wiz, 
  63. then i'm a bit confused because that would be the first time the Wiz didn't
  64. show up (sounds rather impossible to me).
