  17. I developed a mailedit.com file that:
  18.  
  19.    1.  Prompts you as to whether you'd like chevrons ('>') added to
  20.        the front of each line of the original message when you REPLY
  21.        /EXTRACT or FORWARD /EXTRACT a piece of mail.
  22.    2.  Places you into the TPU editor (easily changed to your favorite
  23.        editor).
  24.    3.  Prompts you as to whether you would like your outgoing mail spell
  25.        checked (easily modified for your favorite spell checker).
  26.    4.  Prompt you as to whether you'd like to add you signature file
  27.        to the outgoing mail message (uses sys$login:.signature - easily
  28.        modified).

  30. This is not totally an original work.  I admit to picking up the basics
  31. of it on the net and added some features.

  33. Well, I wrote an article for our newsletter, Interface, about it and a
  34. number of schools around the country have asked me to send them a copy.

  36. So, instead of answering each of your requests or mailing it out to this
  37. list (perhaps a waste of network bandwidth), I've made it available from
  38. the following sources:

  40.    a)  LISTSERV
  41.        To retrieve a copy, send e-mail to either listserv@ubvm.bitnet or
  42.        listserv@ubvm.cc.buffalo.edu and in the body of the mail message,
  43.        not the Subject: line, put the following command:

  45.        get mailedit com vms
  46.  
  47.        To see what else is out there, send the command: index vms
  48.        and LISTSERV will send you back a file called VMS FILELIST.

  50.    b)  VMSSERV
  51.        To retrieve a copy, send e-mail to either vmsserv@ubvms.bitnet or
  52.        vmsserv@ubvms.cc.buffalo.edu and in the body of the mail message,

  66. make it available.  If we have enough, we might even consider making an
  67. EDUSIG tape for the DECUS Tape Library Program.  Any ideas about this
