- Hi there-
- Your questions have been only partially answered in several books and many,
- many campuses. Many institutions, like those in Virginia, Tennessee, and
- many others have had a bit of a mandate prescribed. Tremendous progress has
- been made; you should not be surprised to find that many of your departments
- and programs are and have been engaged in excellent assessment efforts for
- some time. For these programs, there is no reason to "reinvent" anything.
- They know what data is most important and collect it routinely-sometimes
- informally. The kind of data you want to collect is the kind of data that
- your faculty believe in and will use for program improvement.
-
- There's plenty of hope. Look around; there are lots of models to follow.
- All the best-
