- I suggest Thomas Alva Edison, who was both deaf and a reasonably active
- engineer in his time. Though he was wrong in championing DC power lines
- over AC, his contributions are not insignificant. Besides, deaf communication
- without the invention of the light bulb would be more difficult (especially at night),
- wouldn't you say?
