- Since the Christmas holiday period is officially a university
- holiday, staff who work are volunteers and are paid at our overtime rate
- to work. We usually have more than enough volunteers and have to ration
- the available hours in a fair way to all who are interested. This works
- for us. I would not want to have to spend the time training other staff
- to cover public service - it just wouldn't be worth the time.
