- Here we must distinguish. The Son is co-eternal and co-equal
- with the Father, but yet we say that the Son is begotten of the
- Father. We note that this does not mean that the begetting is an
- event in time. Rather, it refers to an eternal relationship.
- Similarly, we say that the Holy Spirit "proceeds from the Father."
- (see John 15:26), referring to an eternal relationship.
