  17. I certainly did not mean poor.  Perhaps I should have stopped at "hard cases."
  18. I came from a family of eight that attended parochial schools, and there
  19. were times when mom had to do laundry for the sisters to pay our tuition. My
  20. own experience was that mountains were moved to allow poorer pupils to
  21. attend.  Even currently, some very good friends have gone through a
  22. prolonged period of minimal employment and kept their kids in the
  23. local parochial school. I know that somehow they were accomodated.
