- Unix is very well thought out OS and of course Netware is not.

- Elliot,
-
- Do you have ANY factual evidence, or anecdotal for that matter, to
- back up your statement? Netware, for all of it's failings AND successes is an
- extremely well-designed and well executed OS. Mostly, it seems to have some
- design limitations that just weren't too well thought out. BUT, for what it
- is, it is an excellent product. There is a reason that Novell owns the lions
- share of the marketplace and it ain't hype. Yes, their design appears
- limited, which is a major reason Banyan has done as well as they have (are
- they in the two-digit share of the market yet?) but what they do, they do
- well.
-
- On the other hand, UNIX, which I do like as an OS, from all of the
- available evidence seems to be a loose combination of programs and
- subroutines tied together as an operating system. (That is, until recent -
- witness the development of the Mach Kernel and others....)
