  14. "archie pc370" will produce a list of sites which archive the pc370 source.  I
  15. believe that the last version was 4.2 before selling out to Microfocus to
  16. support their Cobol cross compile effort on the PC.  I do not believe the
  17. source has ever been distributed.  The assembler was patterned after a stand
  18. alone tool which was used to teach assembly stand alone, and as such is
  19. rather limited.  Also, the capability to intertwine 286 and 370 code was
  20. added which might make the usefulness for cross support on actual 370s
  21. somewhat limited.

  23. The code may be exported to VM very easily from the pc370 version 4.2, but
  24. it uses an SVC 76 or such for most of its os support.  I am not familiar
  25. with MVS coding, but it probably needs much more to be really useful.  This
  26. still misses the original posters desire to be able to run on an HP.
