  15.    Our RS/6000-580 is on order, is our first AIX machine ("We" are the
  16. centralized administrative computing folks), and we have no experience or
  17. documentation, yet.  So, as far as "VSCS for AIX" goes, I wouldn't swear
  18. to it, but I don't think so.  We will have to write an LU6.2 application
  19. in AIX to talk to the "front-end" in MVS and to AIX to "create" sessions.
  20. I am led to believe that session creation is an available interface in
  21. AIX, which is what I intend to use.  My involvement is mostly as a
  22. result of my having explored LU6.2 under VTAM 3.3 in a GCS environment
  23. running under VM/XA SP 2.1, some rapidly aging experience in O/S
  24. environments and lots of practice building and decoding 3270 datastreams.
  25.    There are lots of CUT terminals that we wish to use to access services
  26. on the RS/6000 and this seems to be the most obvious way to go.  It really
  27. shouldn't be an overwhelming task, and I will be glad to share what I find
  28. out as I ask questions on this list.
