  26. On an Indigo (I'm not sure about the Iris) there is a utility
  27. called 'fromgif' that converts a file from gif format to the
  28. SGI native RGB format.

  30. You can then use 'imgview' to look at the image.

  32. To view the image:
  33.     fromgif file.gif file.rgb
  34.     imgview file.rgb
  35.  
  36. If you want to do more with the image, the Indigo provides quite
  37. a few image processing applications in it's standard configuration.
  38. To find out about them type 'man -k image'.
