- I need someone ( anyone ) to help me clarify some electrophysiological terms.
- 1. How to define junction current (when sharp ro patch electrodes are used ) and
- how to measure it;
- 2. What is electrotonic length and how to measure it;
- 3. When we measure input resistance o f a neuron we usually insert an electrode
- into soma and inject a small amount of hyperpolarizing current into soma and
- monitor the change in voltage. In so doing,does the value obtained for input
- resistance only represent the resistance of soma not including whole cell ?
- 4. It has been shown that no antidromic action potential can be induced in rat
- spinal motoneuron until
- embryonic day 16. However, action potentail can be (i) evoked by injecting
- depolarizing current into soma intracellularly as early as E14. Can anyone
- overthere provide a plausible explanation for this phenomenon.
-
- Thanks in advance.
