- I am fairly new to this group, so I was wondering if the recent
- discussion of "Cars as "something better"" had considered the
- potential impact of IVHS technology? Did it all start there?
-
- No discussion of the future of cars or mass transit, or even
- how to improve on or solve transportation problems should overlook
- the trend towards IVHS. Clearly Smart cars and highways will not be
- a panacea, but it will inevitably factor into our society over the
- next several decades.
-
- There is a lot of money being targeted at this new industry, and
- some companies/agencies/universities have gotten on the bandwagon
- for fear of being left behind.
