  13. I have a friend who is looking for an apartment in SF or the
  14. East Bay area by February 1.  His resources are limited; he'd
  15. be delighted to keep the monthly rent below $500/month and 
  16. can't go much above that.  He can't drive, so he needs access 
  17. to public transportation.  (He's in Marin County now, and he 
  18. wouldn't mind staying there if he could get into the city 
  19. easily.)

  21. It doesn't have to be big (obviously!), but he's looking for
  22. a place of his own, rather than a share.  I'm from New York,
  23. and not conversant with the Bay Area vocabulary for these 
  24. things, but he mentioned a studio, a cottage or an "in-law"
  25. apartment.  Kitchen facilities would be super.
