  13. We don't have it any better in the East Bay.  Cable Oakland, those buttheads,
  14. were requested to place their wires underground along Grand Avenue between 
  15. MacArthur and Oakland.  They called all of the property owners along 
  16. Grand and asked them whether they would pay the (quote) $100,000 it would
  17. cost to bury the wires for four blocks.   Of course, 95 % or so of the
  18. property there is rental, so the owners never use the cable service there.
  19. They said "no", so Cable Oakland ripped the cables off of 4 blocks of
  20. Grand.  Unfortunately, this section of Grand is a real RF hole, as there
  21. is a hill blocking us from Sutro tower.  Now, there is no cable and
  22. almost no TV.  Cable Oakland was very unhelpful when I complained to them,
  23. and so was the Oakland City Council.  If there was ever a good site for
  24. a local satellite feed co-op, it's upper Grand.  
  25.     Just to rub salt in the wound, last month Cable Oakland put up a
  26. huge billboard right in the middle of our block which basically said
  27. "We're here when you need us!".  Fortunately they took it down before
  28. I had a chance to deface it.
