- Ami-Tech in Sydney brought in a load of 2.1 kits directly from the US. Suspect
- thats how all the early copies got here. A$130 (first in, u pay your way, C=
- Aus may be cheaper when thet get their act together??). 02-5441874
-
- Frankly though, 2.1's a yawn - save your dough.
-
- If u want CrossDos as a 2.04 add-on, u can get the FULL thing from Nov 1992
- UK mag Amiga Format Coverdisk for A$13 (the 2.1 CrossDos is integral, u cant
- install it separately.
-
- Most people with Postscript printers will already have a commercial PSdriver,
- so the new one wont do you much better.
-
- Theres a new set of paperback size manuals that look good on a desk if
- thats what turns you on. But the contents not much different from your
- 2.04 tome. New commands/options relate almst entirely to A600 PCMIA
- slot and A4000/1200 AGA.
-
- And if people are still upgrading from 1.3, you'll still need to get the
- 2.04 ROM chip separately ($70).
-
- The installation used about 0.5MB more than my 2.0 SW; a consideration
- if your HD system partition is tight on space. I installed into anew
- System 2.1 partition so I could swap back to 2.0 for my commercial sw
- testing (had to reformat first of course).
-
- BTW; C= left the Arexx startup out of the 2.1 S:System-Startup - put it
- back in if you want.
-
- The 2.1 installation log is pretty informative, so it will tell you
- exactly what its done to your files eg. deletions, additioned etc.
- if you are upgrading in-situ.
-
- Regards,
- Randall.
