- I am considering the practicality of some type of AARNET connection at work
- (The Powerhouse Museum). As I see it, the following are some options:
-
- 1) Dialup modem access as a remote terminal to a connected site
- (what I am doing now through extro.ucc.su.oz.au).
-
- 2) Dialup modem access using SLIP or PPP
-
- 3) Dialup ISDN access using SLIP or PPP
-
- 4) Permanent (leased line) connection as an AARNET site.
-
- I suspect 4 is out of the question, not so much because of the cost
- (any idea how much?), but because ot the administration required. In any case
-
-
- Does anyone in OZ provide such a service as (3)? I have used X-terminals
- over ISDN, but not SLIP or PPP.
-
- If not how about option (2), I'm not aware of anywhere that will do this either
- (but then I haven't asked before :-).
-
- Thanks in advance,
