  13. Could anyone who understands what a Brit means by 'Professor' and who
  14. knows why we sometimes have misunderstandings about visiting US academics,
  15. please tell me what 'professor' means in Canada?  Is it closer to the
  16. British status or the US one?  I'm trying to work out if a Canadian
  17. I know who insists on putting Professor in his signature (in a group
  18. of academics who normally eschew titles) is being more than normally
  19. pretentious or not.
