  23. Until recently I would have not paused in recommending the Random
  24. House II unabridged dictionary.  It's an excellent volume, and I still
  25. use it regularly.  However, I think I would now recommend the new 3rd
  26. edition of the American Heritage...a stunning work, thorough, complete,
  27. and well-designed.  And from a practical point of view, the size and
  28. shape of the volume is easier to handle than the Random House.
