- Until recently I would have not paused in recommending the Random
- House II unabridged dictionary. It's an excellent volume, and I still
- use it regularly. However, I think I would now recommend the new 3rd
- edition of the American Heritage...a stunning work, thorough, complete,
- and well-designed. And from a practical point of view, the size and
- shape of the volume is easier to handle than the Random House.
