- There's hope, I think. My family runs pretty heavy (moderate overweight on
- my Mother's side, tho she has been obese herself in the past), with
- obesity and just plain fat on my Father's side.
-
- My postings are all too frequent and long, but suffice it to say that I've
- been able to maintain a 200 pound weight loss, now for over a year. It
- took a fast to get to 185 pounds (lost), and about 4 months later I dieted
- off the final 15.
-
- All it's taken has been a major lifestyle change (from couch potato to
- heavy exerciser) and a dietary change from high-fat, high volume to
- low fat, high volume (one thing did not change...). I maintain weight
- controll very tightly (some might say obsessively, but they're not in
- my size 14s) to keep between 190 and 200 pounds. Still love to eat, but
- I'm at what seems to be an ideal weight for my 6'-2.5" heavy frame, and
- my heart and the rest of the CV system is pretty healthy, now.
-
- It can be done, but it's not easy.
