  13. For those of you who DON'T have PGP2.1 yet:
  14. This info is from the PGP2.1 documentation (except for the garbo
  15. site info... and I have no idea if PGP2.1 has made it to the
  16. garbo mirror sites.)

  18.      There are two compressed archive files in the PGP 2.1 MSDOS release.
  19.      You must get pgp21.zip which contains the MSDOS binary executable and
  20.      the PGP User's Guide, and you can optionally get pgp21src.zip which
  21.      contains the source files.  These files can be decompressed with the

  47.      For those lacking FTP connectivity to the net, nic.funet.fi also
  48.      offers the files via email.  Send the following mail message to
  49.      mailserv@nic.funet.fi:

  52.          SEND pub/unix/security/crypt/pgp21src.zip
  53.          SEND pub/unix/security/crypt/pgp21.zip

  55.      This will deposit the two zipfiles, as (about) 15 batched messages in
  56.      your mailbox within about 24 hours.  Save and uudecode.

  64.      In the US, PGP may be found on God knows how many BBS systems, far
  65.      too many to list here.  Still, if you don't have any local BBS phone
  66.      numbers handy, here are some BBS's you might try.

  68.      The GRAPEVINE BBS in Little Rock Arkansas has set up a special
  69.      account for people to download PGP for free.  The SYSOP is Jim Wenzel,
  70.      at jim.wenzel@grapevine.lrk.ar.us.

  72.      The following phone numbers are applicable and should be dialed in the
  73.      order presented (i.e., the first one is the highest speed line):

  81.      The Northern Lights BBS in Troy, NY, has PGP for free download.  It
  82.      is run by Daniel Ray.  Call (518) 237-2163 at 300-2400 bps 8N1.  Then
  83.      login directly to the pgp account as follows:

  86.          Password: key
  87.       
  88.      In Colorado, try this single-line BBS:  303-443-8292.  It is often
  89.      busy, so keep trying.  Log in with your own name.

  91.      PGP is also widely available on Fidonet, a large informal network of
  92.      PC-based bulletin board systems interconnected via modems.  Check
  93.      your local bulletin board systems.  It is available on many foreign
  94.      and domestic Fidonet BBS sites.
