  25. unfairly?  The original post dealt with the children NOT the individuals!
  26. Afterall, it is not the children who commited the offense.

  32. Shouldn't this read "if the world could depend on you to teach your children
  33. to follow MY example of tolerance ...".  Besides, my understanding is that 
  34. what is being taught is acceptance NOT tolerance.  If tolerence was the 
  35. main objective then we need not mention homosexuality at all; just teach the
  36. kids that all people deserve respect regardless of their differences!

  49. Better yet, why not school choice?  If I am paying for my children's 
  50. education, which I am, why should'nt I be given the choice of which school
  51. I would like to send them to?  Isn't the purpose of the government to serve 
  52. the people?  In a "free" society one would think so!

  54. My guess is that what is being sought is acceptance, not tolerance.  The 
  55. problem is that living a gay lifestyle is not OK (my values).  That is not
  56. to say that homosexuals are inherently evil, but that God did not intend us 
  57. to function this way.  Nor did he intend for us to be sexually active 
  58. outside of marriage, indulge in "immoral" behavior, ....  
  59.  
  60. My children are a precious gift that God has given my wife and I.  We have 
  61. been entrusted with the responsibility of raising our children in a manner
  62. consistent with the teachings of our faith.  Jesus Christ is as real to us 
  63. as the keyboard that I am using at this moment.  When the school teaches that
  64. homosexuality as a valid lifestyle, it operates in direct conflict with the 
  65. values I attempt to instill within my children.

  67. These are my beliefs.  I don't expect you to adopt them, nor do I expect you to
  68. accept them.  All I ask in return is that you give me the same respect in
  69. return.  In my view, teaching my children views which are in direct conflict
  70. with our (my wife and I) values is a violation of this respect.
