- Right, I chose my words poorly. I didn't mean to imply that the
- missionaries were oblivious or uncompassionate towards Indians, but
- unfortunately the task of collecting and recording census data was still
- beyond their capabilities. There are some regions like the Amazon basin
- for which accurate census data has never been collected even to this day.
