- Melvin's of Elizabethtown
-
- For the past several years, may wife has been wanting to go to
- a restaurant in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. Her colleagues
- strongly recommended the place. Neither of us knew what to
- expect.
-
- We were both surprised when we entered. It was a real hole in
- the wall. Two items were included on the menu -- hamburgers and
- hot dogs. The line was extremely long, however, it moved quickly.
- As my wife and I were discussing our surprise, a young woman
- in line ahead overheard and commented that the line was always long
- but always moved quickly. She noted that she grew up in
- Elizabethtown, has moved away, but always returns to Melvin's.
-
- I ordered a coke, one hamburger, and one hotdog -- both "with everything."
- My wife ordered a coke and one hamburger "with everything." Neither of us
- knew what "with everything" meant.
-
- I understand why the place was crowded. I don't know what they do,
- but I cannot remember eating better tasting hamburgers. My wife
- agreed. To top that off, the cost of the two meals was less than
- four dollars. Look out, McDonalds!
-
- If you are ever near Fayetteville/Fort Bragg, NC, check out Melvin's.
