- >Will everyone stop saying "tribal techno"
- That's what it is. Electronically produced music with a tribal feel. Hence
- the "tribal" modifier to the base noun "techno", referring to a kind
- of "techno music". This is comparable to the phrases "deep house", "ambient
- techno", "Acid Jazz", etc. etc. Stop trying to ban people from using words that
- directly express their communication just because you don't like their usage.
- Quit being a prude, Mr. Quigg.

- >Techno means different things nowadays,...

- >I think you'll find the roots of tribal dance music buried deep in house .
- Er, I think that is the other way around. Tribal dance music, as I understand
- it, has its roots in african, native american indian, and other
- (historically) primitive cultures. (Excuse my non-PC-ness about describing
- this, but we (americo-centrics) know how thick the brits are - it's best
- to be blunt). House music has its roots in the poverty ravaged
- african-american culture of the post-civil-war industrialized midwest.
- Thus, I venture to guess that tribal dance music pre-dates the recent
- (historically speaking) invention of the "house music" genre. It is
- correct for Mr.Quigg to imply that the recent growth in popularity of
- tribal techno (Cringe, Mr Quigg, cringe!) is due to the audience it is
- popular with having been a part of the popularity of house music. Thus,
- the musical "roots" of tribal techno's audience can be said to be part of
- house music. Now would that be Detroit House, Chicago House, Acid House,
- Deep House, Garage House, or Hip House you are referring to Mr. Quigg?
-
- >merry christmas , y'bastards
- I'll toast to that. Up yours, Mr. Quigg. =;}
