- In the 1984 Summer Olympics, a runner (maybe in the 10000 Km?) had
- trouble with dehydration and was nearly disabled during the race.
- The runner finished anyway, far behind everyone and was lauded for
- their courage, etc. The PA announcer read a quote as the runner was
- near the finish line; I believe he said it was of Greek origin. It
- went something like, "Ask not for victory but for courage, for with
- courage you not only bring honor to yourself, but to us all."
