- I remember hearing an Irish toast some time ago. I don't remember much
- of it, but it had the following form:

- May you have enough (e.g. good times) that (e.g. you will have enthusiasm)
- May you have enough (e.g. bad times) that (e.g. you may be humble).

- It had several verses that alternately wished both extremes on the listener
- but always to the listener's benefit.
