  12.   I discovered a copy in another bookstore that had the second story, "The
  13. Pain Emperor" in a non-garbled form, so I picked it up (but thanks for your
  14. kind offer!).  What irked me the most was that the Spider was at that hoary
  15. cliche known as the cliffhanger--trapped by the police in a subway tunnel, and
  16. unwilling to shot the cops to free himself, how could Richard Wentworth aka
  17. THE SPIDER! escape?  Alas for me, my book ended right there, leaving me
  18. cursing and swearing at the publisher.

  20.   Thankfully, I did learn how he escaped from this certain death-trap (it
  21. seems to me that of all the pulp heroes--the Avenger, The Shadow, Doc Savage,
  22. etc.--that only the Spider continually and continuously had the most inventive
  23. means of evading the clutches of such pursuers as the police and other thugs).

  35.   The local "monster" bookstore I frequent has moved the C&G Spider reprints
  36. out of the mystery bins and into the "mens adventure" area (along with such
  37. other notables as "The Penetrator", "The Eradicator" and "The Inexplicable")
  38. where they also seem to be selling okay.

  40.  By any chance do you know the next two titles that will be printed by C&G in
  41. Feb. or March?
